Malaysia's Asiaspace Rolls Out WiMAX Service

Following the rollout of Packet One's WiMAX service under the brand name of P1 WiMAX, another Malaysian WiMAX operator Asiaspace has also launched its WiMAX service under the brand name of amax, the Edge Daily of Malaysia reported.

Initially covering only the Klang Vally area, Asiaspace's amax service will be priced at 99 Ringgit (US$29.0; US$1=3.4 Ringgit) per month for users choosing the USB modem/broadband package and 138 Ringgit (US$40.4) for users subscribing to the multi-user modem/broadband package. China's Huawei is currently Aisaspace's main WiMAX equipment supplier, with deliverables including base stations and CPE (Customer Premises Equipment).
